The Man Behind the Lens XPortraits is an action photography firm that photographs athletes performing their favorite sports and actions. The firm was founded by Paul McGavin, a Petaluma, CA resident who also started PhotoSensei and InterSight. Paul is a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, is a certified Apple and Adobe developer and is an expert in Python, Ruby and Flex/Air/ActionScript programming.

XPortraits shoots exclusively digital and processes its photos using top-of-the-line raw converter and photo manipulation software. Our color-managed production process guarantees our clients the highest quality prints:

• All photos are taken with professional Nikon cameras and lenses.
• The photos are printed at a professional lab using Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper.
• The digital files are cropped, color-balanced and sharpened for maximum output quality.
• We try at all times to make you and your children look their best.
• All photo sizes are expressed in inches and prices in US Dollars.

Custom Sessions: We Come to You

Please email us to request a Custom Session for any open evening or weekend day.

• $250 session fee covers up to three hours of setup and shooting. Additional time charged at $75 per hour.
• All individual prints ordered at the session qualify for a 25% discount; package pricing is also available.
• Travel over 30-minutes one-way (from Petaluma) is charged at $35 per hour.
